About

Lincolnshire Ambassador

The Visitor Economy is a key priority sector for the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Lincolnshire Ambassador has been created in response to the Strategic Economic Plan. It aims to enhance front-line customer service skills and raise awareness of the local tourism offer, making a real difference to the visitor experience and ensuring repeat custom for businesses.

The funding for this Boston College initiative has been provided by the European Social Fund and The Skills Funding Agency through the Skills Support for the Workforce programme. This site has been developed in partnership with The National Coastal Tourism Academy, following their success with Bournemouth Ambassador, the Greater Lincolnshire Destination Management Organisations; Visit East Lincolnshire and Visit Lincoln, and Lincolnshire County Council.

Visit East Lincolnshire

Visit East Lincolnshire is the recognised brand that covers all tourism businesses in the district of East
Lindsey and covers 700 square miles of coast, countryside and historic market towns and villages.

Visit Lincoln

Visit Lincoln is the Official Destination Management Organisation for Lincoln and surrounding countryside. Our aim is to raise awareness of Lincoln as a great place to Visit, Study, Meet and Invest. Visit Lincoln supports growth in the visitor economy by working in partnership with local organisations, enhancing the visitor experience and delivering coordinated marketing activity.

National Coastal Tourism Academy

The National Coastal Tourism Academy believes in the potential of tourism to fuel economic growth, regenerate communities and create new jobs.

Our Mission:

Starting initially in Bournemouth, the NCTA is for anyone who interacts with visitors – restaurants, hotels, holiday parks, self-catering accommodation, language schools, transport providers, retailers, destination managers and residents – anyone who plays a part in the visitor economy. The Ambassador training is just one of several projects designed to improve visitor experience at destination level, and aims to give a wide range of people a basic training in product knowledge and customer care, as well as encouraging them to learn more and enhance career development.
