Greater Lincolnshire - Lincolnshire Wolds

Topic Progress:

The rolling hills and hidden valleys of the Lincolnshire Wolds were designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1973.

The Wolds are the highest land in eastern England between Kent and Yorkshire and there are fine views to be had of the Pennines in the west and the North Sea coast to the east. A living, working landscape of woodland, grassland and former chalk pits, the Lincolnshire Wolds provide important habitats for rare flowers and wildlife.

There are plenty of footpaths and bridleways which offer visitors the chance to discover the Wolds.
